Moving, Miss USA And Thai food, a whirlwind weekend

Woah, did we have a busy weekend!?! I didn't take many pictures because we didn't have ANY time between the packing, moving and unpacking... it's was nuts!

I've spent a good bit of my time over the last two weeks packing up our current home, making sure all of those delicate wedding gifts were properly bubble wrapped, protected, etc. And then, Friday was here. The last evening the Hubs & I had to pack up any remaining items & wait for the moving company to arrive. It was a late night, and as we surveyed our home for the last time, we began to worry that not everything would fit onto the truck... a nightmare I'd been having after first booking the movers.

Luckily, things went super smoothly Saturday morning & the moving guys were so fast!!! It was awesome, look how they were able to get their ramp moved right into our front door...

Now, this isn't even 1/2 of our stuff - they'd only done the living room, kitchen & guest bedroom at this point. But in the end, they squeezed everything on, and we were on our way to our new home!

Of course,they were able to unpack even faster than they packed & were done in no time. Thanks Two Men & A Truck; who were done in less time & for less $$$ than originally estimated!

Then I was left, with about a million boxes in a new home that desperately needed organizing. The Hubs & I had decided earlier that after the movers were done, he would go back to our old place & clean as I began unpacking & organizing the new place. This worked great for us, as I hate cleaning & he despises unpacking & reorganizing every little thing.

That evening, I ran a few errands, bought new paint for the few rooms we didn't cover, purchased some of those essential groceries, including my favorite cereal... Honey graham Oh's, yum-O!!!

I was back in time to catch most of HBO's much anticipated film/documentary, Grey Gardens, based on the lives of Jackie O's Aunt Edie & first cousin, Edie, who had everything and ended up with only each other in a once-beautiful home in East Hampton that had turned to ruin over the course of time. It was such an intriguing 2 hours of television, I could barely turn away to organize my closet!

Sunday was another early day for us, since we had tons left to do in the new home. I finished organizing my kitchen - a huge task for those non-cooks out there, arranged furniture, helped the Hubs put together the beds and curated all of our artwork. Sounds fancy right?

Later that evening, the Hubs picked up Thai food for dinner (we were SO over fast food, sorry Zaxby's) and it was excellent! He found the cutest little Thai restaurant right down the road from us, where he ordered us both Pad See Ew (my fav), to go.

As we enjoyed our yummy dinner, we flipped on Miss USA 2009, and did that ever bring me back! I mean, what woman didn't think they wanted to be a beauty queen when they were a little girl? Or was that just me... Anyhow, the Hubs & I immediately noticed Miss South Carolina, not for her obvious beauty, but for her fabulous hair! I mean just look at this adorable hair style:

I mean, is that perfection or what?!? And look at how else she can style it...

I've been wanting to do something different with my 'do, and am not afraid of short hair, and the Hubs had such a great reaction to Miss South Carolina's hair (seriously) I think I might just go for it! What do you think?
